ANNABELLE Our New Halloween Tradition/Game

Update: apparently there's a lady that started this, she has a Facebook group called Doll in the Hall.  Check it out! I always try to give credit.

My Aunt texted me a super fun idea for Halloween this year.  Move a creepy doll around the house.  It just so happened that very same day, I had bought four dolls at the local thrift shop to paint, and one was perfect.

I was excited to see how my girls would react.

I placed the doll in my middle child's bed.  I was pulling out of the garage and she barges in laughing, asking if I was trying to give her a heart attack.  She said she was terrified of how a creepy doll ended up in her bed.

She then placed in it my youngest child's bed.  I was watching TV, and I hear her scream "What the Annabelle!?!"  It was so funny!  And that's how the doll got her name and reference to the scary movie Annabelle.

As you find the doll, you must then in turn hide her for someone else to find.

Have fun with her.  I was surprised how creeped out people were finding her.

Crypt Keeper's Crypt Halloween Party Game

Halloween is our favorite time of year.  We always go all out with decorations, activities,  and games.  This game was a big hit with the family.

It is so much fun and you can change it up to match any holiday or theme.

You will need:
2-4 cauldrons (you could use garbage cans or buckets)

A bone for each player (we like to do 2 turns each, so we do twice as many bones)
Optional: life size skeleton

How to Play:

Have the group split into two teams.
Line up the teams on one side of the room or yard.

Place a cauldron with enough bones for each team member inside it in front of each team.
Place a cauldron on the other side of the room or yard.

Each team member must race one at a time, waddling with the bones between their legs or thighs, to the cauldron across the room or yard. No Hands!

The players must drop the bones into the cauldron and run back to their team.  If the bone was dropped anytime before the cauldron they must start over.  If the bone does not land in to cauldron, you must start over.

Once the player has returned, the next player can go.
Repeat until all the players have had a turn.

The first group to finish is the winner.

If you want to soften the fall, you can put spider webs, cotton balls or batting in the bottom of the cauldron.  This might look like smoke.

There are many different ways to play this game.

Witches Brew
Gather up all your fun unbreakable Halloween decorations for ingredients for your witches Brew.  We used a plastic skull, foam pumpkin, squishy shrunken head, plastic rat, plastic body organs, brain, yellow ball for the moon, fake fruit, doll, spiders, Scorpions, plastic potion bottles, crystal balls (glitter filled water balls),  etc.

Pumpkin Plop
Foam or mini pumpkins & gourds of different kinds.

Skulls

Sewer Rats
Sewer  rats into a small metal garbage can.

Eyes
You can use ping pong eyes, inflatable eyes, or paint some small balls into eyes.

Werewolf Droppings
Like the Poop the Potato game.  Here's a Link to their video.  But, they didn't create the game, it's actually been around for quite a while.  It was a good reminder from childhood, and we decided to play it for our family party. We later played it at my daughter's birthday party.  They loved it!

*This game is definitely one of those games that depending on who you are playing it with, it's either a big hit or a big miss.   People either think it's hilarious or just gross.
*Play with silly crazy fun people only.

Spiders into a Web
I would use large spiders or bugs, and drop them into a net (looks like a web)

You could use Halloween stuffed animals or bean bags.
The possibilities are limitless.

Vampire Talk Party Game

Sorry for the TERRIBLE pictures, but you get the idea.  That's what happens when you rely on someone else to take pictures, lol.  Nobody else would let me post their pictures, haha
(they usually change their minds, we'll see)

There are several ideas to play this game.  The basic idea came to me last year after our house fire, we were left with none of our games or Halloween stuff.  I did however buy a  Watch Ya Mouth game at the local thrift store (yes I sanitized it).    While shopping around I saw some vampire teeth and it hit me.  Why not try the same concept with vampire teeth?  So, I bought a bunch.  Before the fire we had a set of mouth guard dental expanders I bought on Amazon, and wrote our own verses and tongue twisters.  I bought the Mouth Guards separately, because I wanted a bunch to play with the entire extended family.

We used a one minute timer, but you can change that depending on the difficulty of your phrases or age or your group.  Break up into teams.  You get one point for each phrase your team guesses correctly.  If your team doesn't guess the last phrase, the other team can guess and steal the points.  We played to 25 points.

I thought it would be fun to make up our own Halloween phrases to say.
Then, I decided to look online, but they are all copyrighted so here's the links to what I found.

I looked online for some Halloween tongue twisters.
Halloween Tongue Twister Sites:

I found books from Amazon you can download.
Books available in hard copy or Kindle download:

Then, I thought maybe movie quotes from famous Vampire inspired movies.

Adult Movie Quotes

You could go the simple route and just purchase these non-Halloween games on Amazon.
(Just using the vampire teeth makes it a Halloween game right!)

Or, you can download a 1100 mouth guard challenges for free here Mouth Guard Challenge download.  But really the game is only like $8 to have it made for you in a box.

It really doesn't matter what route you decide to take, this game is going to be fun!
We did a combination of the tongue twisters and movie quotes.
Leave us a comment and share with your friends!
