Chicken Egg Drop Party Game

My kids love this Easter Game.  It's super easy to play and requires very little set up.  We love to play it after a good Easter egg hunt.  It would also be fun played for a Farm Lesson in school.

You will need:

4 Easter baskets (2 must be without handles)

An Easter egg for each player (we like to do 2 turns each, so we do twice as many eggs)

How to Play:
Have the group split into two teams.
Line up the teams on one side of the room or yard.
Place a basket with enough eggs for each team member inside it in front of each team.
Place and handle-less Easter Basket on the other side of the room or yard.

Each team member must race one at a time, waddling with colored eggs between their legs or thighs, to the basket across the room or yard. No Hands!

The players must drop the egg into the basket and run back to their team.  If the egg was dropped anytime before the basket they must start over.  If the egg does not land in to Easter Basket, you must start over.

Once the player has returned, the next player can go.
Repeat until all the players have had a turn.
The first group to finish is the winner.

You can use craft eggs, plastic eggs (with or without candy), colored boiled eggs or raw eggs depending on your players.
*Raw eggs could be really messy, and possibly carry salmonella.

If you want to soften the fall, you can put Easter grass or batting in the bottom of the basket.

For an added challenge you might only count eggs that did not crack or break open.  Or whatever eggs broke count for the other team.

You can substitute the basket for sand buckets, garbage cans, etc.

This game is so much fun!
We'd love to hear about your experience.

Don't forget to leave a comment and share with your friends!
