Pringles Santa

A fun neighbor gift or class craft. It would be fun to include the "Pringles Ringles" challenge directions with Santa. 

You'll need:

a can of Pringles

a sheet of red felt

a bell

wire

a small red pompom

cotton balls or batting for the beard and trim around the hat.

wire cutters to bend and cut the glasses

hot glue gun/glue

Find the Pringles Man's Face on the front of the can.

This will be where you want Santa's face.

Hot glue the red pompom on the Pringles Man's nose.

Next, Cut and glue on the red felt hat to the desired size and shape on the lid.

Glue the trim on the hat.

Glue the bell on the tip of the hat.

Finally, add the beard cotton.

Isn't he cute!

It would be fun to make a Mrs. Claus or change the color and make elves.

How to Get Food Coloring Out of Clothing

This tip might be beneficial to you while doing all your holiday baking this time of year.

I was reaching for some cookie decorating items, when a yellow food coloring fell out of the cabinet splattering on my shirt.  My kids must have just left it sitting in there all by itself.

Well, I thought to myself Alcohol gets out paint and permanent markers,  guess I'll start there.

First, I gave my shirt a good rinse to remove any excess dye.

This is what I was left with.

I pulled out my rubbing alcohol it was 91%.  Lower percentages will work too.

I poured it on and let it sit a few minutes.

As you can see it faded and spread a bit, but it was still there.

So, I rinsed and repeated with the rubbing alcohol.

This time I let it sit for about a half hour.

It faded a ton, but you could still see it just a little.

I poured some more rubbing alcohol on it and left it overnight.

When I checked it in the morning, the food coloring was completely gone.

This worked like a charm. 

*Rubbing Alcohol might not work on all fabric types or might take out the original dye out of clothing.  I would recommend a spot test to make sure it doesn't make the color of your clothing run/fade or ruin the fabric. Use at your own risk.

Four Years ago we started a new holiday tradition, 

and invited our friends & family to participate with us.  

We wrapped two rolls of pennies in the folded up note below and attached a red ribbon and little bell.  We gave it to our family and friends as an early Christmas present.

(we use quarters for each member of our family to participate)

Just One Penny

This year for Christmas we wanted to teach our girls about the “Gift of Giving.” We racked our brains and as we walked past the Salvation Army’s Red Kettles, an idea sparked.  Each time we walk past the kettles, we are inspired to give money on the way in and out of stores.  The girls get excited and beg for money to place in the red kettle.  We are starting a new family tradition.  Each year whatever we can afford to give, we will get a roll of change for each family member.  Each time we walk into and out of a store we will drop in one coin, until all the coins are gone.  Look around the parking lot of the big chain stores, they are filled with cars.  If every shopper dropped just one penny into the red kettle every day, they could make upwards of $100-$1,000 a day, per kettle.  Just one penny!  This year we are giving our friends and neighbors the “Gift of Giving.”  Included you will find two rolls of coins to help teach your little ones what Christmas is truly about.  We invite your family to use these coins to help change the world, by placing them in the red kettles or coming up with your own idea of paying it forward.  Merry Christmas!

Fold up the above note and tape around the two rolls of pennies.

Add a red ribbon with a bell.
