This year, all the kids are obsessed with 67. Moms, Dads, and Teachers everywhere are confused and annoyed by this trend. We've decided to embrace it and incorporate it into our Elf on the Shelf this year. We've been posting daily ideas on our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Follow along here or there for more fun ideas. As always, we earn commission from qualifying clicks and purchases on social media and Amazon. I added Amazon links to help lighten the burden of the craziness and stress of Elf on the busy parents are feeling, but this is more about fun than anything else.
You are caller 67
This is a fun play on customer assistance calling. The elf has been on hold so long that he starts falling asleep. We used one of the new Elf Mates elves for this post. Here's an Amazon link if you are interested.
We are all about Halloween in our home. Anytime we can incorporate that into other holidays, it's gonna happen. Teachers everywhere are dealing with 67 all day long. Some don't even understand why. This is a fun take on their frustration. We used the Elf Mates elves, a life-size skeleton, and a blue wig to bring our idea to life. Here's an Amazon link if you are interested.
Thing 6, Thing 7, Thing 67
Let's Play BINGO
Bingo was a no-brainer idea for 67. B6, B7, and O67 are the perfect calls for Bingo fun. I wish I had a fun Bingo game, but we lost ours in our home fire a few years back. Amazon link to the one on our wish-list. For the post, we got our Bingo cards from myfreebingocards.com (no affiliation) and shrunk them down to size. You can download the entire game and play with your kids in the full-size version.
We just used a standard hole punch for the Bingo markers.
Counting Sheep
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 CRUNCH!!
Tootsie Pops were a big part of my childhood. We were always looking for the shooting star and the Native American. I loved the cute commercials with the owl and turtle counting licks to get to the center. The Elves only make it to licks 6,7 before CRUNCH! Here's an Amazon link for Tootsie Pops if you are interested.
How many elves does it take to change a lightbulb? 6-7
The Elves are using the pulley system and all their weight to hoist the lightbulb up. The Grinchy monster is preparing to cut the rope with scissors. We added our cute little toddler elves to make this one extra special. Here's an Amazon link if you are interested in incorporating them into your holiday fun.
Momma Duck lost her babies. Can you help her find all 67?
We have been loving the trend to buy cute minis and hide them around the house for your kids or grandparents to find. We recently hid mini Jesuses around the house for our grandparents, and they loved it. When we saw these baby ducks for so cheap on Amazon, we couldn't resist. Here's a Amazon link to the ducks and a link to the Jesuses if you want to add them to your holiday fun.
See you in 6-7 Days
We posted this 7 days before Elf on the Shelf starts, but you could easily use it for 7 days before Christmas from Santa.
This can't be right. Ugh, everything is 67. Math is hard.
We printed out a bunch of math problems that all equal 67. Added a calculator and some friends to the fun.
67
This is a really simple idea of making 67 out of pipe cleaners and putting them on the elf's hands. The kids weigh out 67 in their hands as they say it, so it's meant to copy that. We used sparkly pipe cleaners to add the holiday spirit. While they don't photograph well, they look pretty awesome in person. Here's an Amazon link if you don't already have some at home.
We hope you enjoyed all our fun ideas, follow along our social media for daily ideas or on our blog for weekly ideas. If you liked this post, you might also like our previous posts:
