Elf on the Shelf Ideas 2025

We have had a blast with our Elf this year. If you are interested in 67 ideas, we put all 17 in a separate post here. We love any kind of Christmas tradition we can incorporate into our family. This year, we welcomed a whole new Elf family. A girl Elf on the Shelf, 2 Elf Mates, multiple baby and toddler elves, and a Grinchy monster elf.  We hope to inspire some great ideas. We've been posting daily ideas on our social media accounts on YouTubeFacebookInstagram, and TikTok. Follow along here or there for more fun ideas. We've included Amazon links to all the products used, if you're interested, but this is really more about inspiring fun ideas for your Elf. As always, we earn commission from qualifying clicks and purchases.

Donut Worry, We're Back! We brought your dog gifts from Santa.

(These are literally the only toys our Golden Retriever doesn't rip apart in a day. They last for several months before she rips into them.)

We gathered up all the old and new donut dog toys we could find for a fun sledding scene. We used a white tablecloth for the snow. We partially extended the recliner footrest and added pillows to create the hill.

Crocodile Hunter
"Crikey!
"That was a close one!"

We are BIG Steve Erwin fans and wanted to make a tribute Elf in his honor.

This idea literally came to me while looking at an apple. Including everyday objects from your home, without going out and spending a ton of money, is a big goal for our home.

You are the Apple of My Eye!

It turned out really cute. We already had the cute colored eyes and an apple paper-punch, so this was an easy setup. Here's a link to the Apple Punch

Breakfast is Served

This is a great last-minute idea. Just cut an X with a razor blade on the O and tuck the elf in. We added a marshmallows on top for added fun.

This Ball Pit Sure is Fun!

We just added a bag of assorted pompoms.
Here's a link to the Pompoms and googly eyes set.

M.A.S.H.

I loved playing M.A.S.H. as a kid. We created a fun, simple one with Christmas ideas. The elf played her game. Now it's your turn.

She ended up marrying the Grinchy Monster, lol.

3, 2, 1 BLASTOFF!

Elf ate too many beans and blasts off the toilet with a hellacious fart.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

A very easy one that you can eat for a snack after. If you are feeling extra, sit down and read the book or watch a video together. We just used four green apples and a single-serve JIF peanut butter to create the caterpillar. You can swap out the peanut butter for a red apple if you prefer. Cut out the eyes and mouth from colored paper and add apple stems for the antennae.

I made you an Apple Watch

Write all the numbers with a permanent marker on top of the apple. use 2 apple stems for the clock's hands. Cut out the watch band from colored paper and hole-punch.

YUCK! This apple is WORMY!

Core out several holes in the apple and fill with gummy worms.

Oh no, I got BUTTWORMS!

Maybe not the best for little kids, but the older kids and teenagers are going to freak out! Going for that shock and awe laughter.

Fear Factor

"Get me out of here!"

We used to watch Fear Factor back in the day all the time. The snake pit really creeped me out.

It's Pocky Day! 11/11

We will continue to add to this post as this year's Elf season plays out.

Happy Elving!
